Lenovo A5000 with 4000mAh battery launched in India for Rs. 9,999


The Lenovo A5000 is now available to purchase via the company's online store in India for Rs. 9,999. It is up for pre-orders on Lenovo's TheDoStore and the handset will be shipped starting April 30. The Lenovo A5000 was initially launched in Russia last week and was also listed on Lenovo's official UAE website.

The main highlight of the Lenovo A5000 is its massive 4000mAh battery that offers up to 35 hours of talk time and up to 33.5 days standby. The smartphone also comes with Quick Charge feature that allows the battery to get fully charged in 3 hours, a 15 minute charge lasts up to 4 hours of talk time.

The Lenovo A5000 features 5-inch (1280x720 pixels) HD IPS display. It is powered by 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6582 processor paired with Mali 400 GPU and 1GB RAM. The handset comes with 8GB of internal storage and microSD card slot for storage expansion (supports up to 32GB). It runs Android 4.4 KitKat.

Camera features include 8-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front facing camera. Connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth.

The A5000 measures 140x71.4x9.98mm, weighs 160 grams and will be offered in black or white color options.

Lenovo launches A5000 smartphone with 5-inch HD display, 4000mAh battery


Lenovo launched a new smartphone in the A-series dubbed A5000 in Russia. The handset is also listed on Lenovo's official UAE site. It is also available in India through retail stores according to Mahesh Telecom.

The Lenovo A5000 features 5-inch (1280x720 pixels) HD IPS display. It is powered by 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6582 processor paired with Mali 400 GPU and 1GB RAM. The handset comes with 8GB of internal storage and microSD card slot for storage expansion (supports up to 32GB). It runs Android 4.4 KitKat.

According to Mahesh Telecom, the Lenovo A5000 is priced at Rs. 10,250 for Indian market and is expected to launch in the coming days. In Russia it comes with a price tag of RUB 12,000 ($227 | Rs. 14,500).

Lenovo To Release Android 5.0 Lollipop Update For Seven Smartphones, Expected In Q2


Lenovo revealed that it will be upgrading seven of its smartphones to Android 5.0 Lollipop. The update will be rolled out in Q2 (April, May, June) this year.

According to Lenovo's Android upgrade matrix page the Lenovo A5000, A6000, P70-A, S90-A, Vibe X2, Vibe Z2 and Vibe Z2 Pro smartphones will be receiving Android 5.0 Lillipop treatment.


The upgrade will arrive via Over-the-air hand and applies to the models which are bought from retail markets. Unfortunately, operators customized and contract models will not receive the update.

The upgrade matrix page also stated that "The actual "Released Date" date may change. Please take note of the updates on this page"

CES 2015 : Lenovo Launch A6000, Will Take On Xiaomi And Yu Yureka In India

Chinese brand  Lenovo launched a new 4G enabled budget Android Smartphone dubbed A6000 at CES 2015. The handset will be launched in India via Flipkart, priced at $169 (10,000). Last year Lenovo launced the Vibe X2 exclusively on Flipkart, the company this time is opting for a similar strategy. The handset will competer against Xiaomi Redmi Note and YU Yureka 4G smartphones.

Coming to the specs, the Lenovo A6000 features a 5-inch IPS display and is powered by 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, paired with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage [microSD card support upto 32GB]. The handset runs Android 4.4 KitKat with Lenovo's Vibe 2.0UI.

Camera features include an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front camera. The handset is backed by 2300mAh battery which is is rated to deliver up to 13 hours of talk time and up to 264 hours of standby time on 3G network. It measures 141x70x8.2mm and weighs 128 grams.

There is no details about the availability of the Lenovo A6000 handset in India.
