Lenovo ThinkPad 10 is the first tablet announced for Windows 10
At its Tech World Event in Beijing, China, Lenovo also announced the ThinkPad 10 tablet, a surface 3 competitor. The tablet features ThinkPad Pen Pro with WRITEit software that can convert stylus handwriting to text, and allows the pen to be used for any input.
The Lenovo ThinkPad 10 is targeted at enterprise users. Lenovo touts that "Mobile business users struggling to choose between a laptop or tablet will love the new ThinkPad 10 with its flexible working modes." It has a fingerprint reader and an optional dTPM encryption,
The Lenovo ThinkPad 10 features 10.1-inch WUXGA (1280 x 1900 pixels) multi-touch display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. There is also an optional Anti-Glare Film for improved visibility in bright sunlight or the 4-way Privacy Film for confidentiality in information sensitive environments for the screen.
The tablet comes in two processor options - Intel Atom x5-Z8500 or Intel Atom x7-Z8700 paired with optional 2GB or 4GB LPDDR3 RAM. The tablet comes in two storage variants - 64GB and 128GB. It ships with Windows 10 pre-installed.
The ThinkPad 10 sports a 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and 1.2-megapixel fixed-focus front facing camera. For immersive media experiece it has a Realtek ALC5672 with 1W stereo speakers. It also comes with triple-array digital microphones and will be available in 3G and 4G LTE variants. It houses WiFi, Micro-HDMI, microSD card slot, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB port for connectivity. The tablet offers 10 hours of battery life.
Lenovo ThinkPad 10 can be used as a full-fledged laptop using the optional ThinkPad 10 Folio Keyboard or the Ultrabook Keyboard. There is also an optional tablet dock to plug in monitors and printers.
The Lenovo ThinkPad 10 is priced at $549 and will be available worldwide later this summer. Optional accessories will also be available at launch-
