Sony's water-resistant Xperia M4 Aqua Dual launched in India for Rs. 24,990


Sony announced its mid-range water-resistant smartphone Xperia M4 Aqua Dual for the Indian market. It was initially unveiled at MWC 2015, Barcelona. The phone is quite sturdy and sports omnibalance design language, metallic frame and a high-quality polycarbonate body. It is dust and water resistant with IP65/68 rating. It can be immersed in water up to 5 feet (1.5-meter) for as long as 30 minutes.

The Xperia M4 Aqua Dual features a 5-inch HD (720x1280) display protected by tempered glass and is powered by 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (quad-core 1.5GHz + quad-core 1.0GHz) processor paired with Adreno 405GPU and 2GB RAM. The phone comes with 16GB internal storage and microSD card slot (supports up to 32GB). It runs Android Lollipop 5.0 out of the box and comes with dual-SIM support. 

Camera features include 13-megapixel autofocus rear camera with Sony Exmor RS mobile image sensor and f/2.0 aperture and LED flash. On the front there is a 5-megapixel camera that has a wide 88-degree field of view. 

Connectivity features include  Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, A-GPS, Wi-Fi, and USB. A 2400mAh battery gives the juice for Xperia M4 Aqua Dual to run which is rated to deliver a talk time of up to 13 hours and standby time of up to 779 hours. It measures 145.5x72.6x7.3mm, weighs 140 grams and comes in Black, White or Coral Colors.

The Sony Xperia M4 Aqua is priced at Rs 24,990 and will go on sale starting today.
