Vivo X5 Pro with eye scanner, octa-core chip launched in China for $440

Chinese mobile brand Vivo has launched its mid-range flagship device dubbed X5 Pro in China. The main highlight of the handset is the eye-scanner technology that is built into the front facing camera, that unlocks the device as well as can be used to unlock important information stored.

Other talking point is that the Vivo X5 Pro sports an 8-megapixel front facing camera that can interpolate images to the quality of 32-megapixels. On the back there is a 13-megapixel camera with LED flash and f/2.2 aperture.

The Vivo X5 Pro features 5.2-inch AMOLED full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display with 2.5D glass technology. Under the hood there is a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor paired with 2GB RAM.

The smartphone comes with 16GB internal storage and microSD card slot that supports up to 128GB microSD cards. It runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with company's proprietary Funtouch OS 3.0 UI on top. 

A 2300mAh battery fuels the Vivo X5 Pro and it comes with support for 4G LTE and dual-SIM. The body is just 6.44mm thick

The Vivo X5 Pro will be available in China for CNY 2,698 ($440 | Rs.28,000). The company did not reveal the availability details.
