YU YUPHORIA launch Set for May 12


Micromax subsidiary Yu Televentures is all set to launch the successor of its Yureka smartphone this month.

YU's announced that its latest smartphone dubbed YU YUPHORIA will be launching on May 12. The company revealed the launch date via its twitter account. The tweet read "The moment of YUphoria is coming. Have you blocked your calendar?"

The name of the smartphone, previously codenamed 'Project Ceaser' was chosen through its crowd-sourcing smartphone naming campaign #YUNameit.

For now, not much is known about the YUPHORIA smartphone. But YU on its social platform has teased some of the features of the smartphone that include 64-bit processor, 16GB internal storage, 2GB RAM and Android Lollipop based Cyanogen Mod 12OS. YU YUPHORIA is expected to be  priced under Rs. 10,000.

Like the Yu Yureka the Yuphoria is also expected to be made available exclusively via Amazon India. Yu Yureka has been performing quite well in the Indian market. The smartphone recently got Android Lollipop update. In the latest flash sale on April 29, 25,000 units of the handset was sold.
