YU YUPHORIA teased ahead of May 12 launch


Micromax subsidiary Yu Televentures will launch the YU Yuphoria smartphone on May 12. The event will take place in Gurgaon, New Delhi, India and will start at 12pm. 

Ahead of is launch, the company has started teasing and dropping hints of its latest device. Rahul Sharma, Micromax Co-Founder has shared two teaser videos of the Yu Yuphoria on his twitter account.The handset makes a brief appearance on both the videos.

The first video hints that the Yu Yuphoria might sport a metal frame body. It also shows off the durability and sturdiness of the handset. The video shows that how Yu Yuphoria survives after being accidentally dropped on a tile floor. After being dropped, we can see the handset is intact, but the tile on floor is cracked. The video was accompanied by a tweet "Your excitement is really contagious and inspiring"


The second video shows how powerful the speaker of the handset is. When the earphones are plugged out, the speaker generates enough power to blow the hair just like hair dryer. It was accompanied by the tweet "Now that's quite a hair raising experience". This indicates that the Yuphoria might have stereo-like surround sound speakers


The name of the smartphone, previously codenamed 'Project Ceaser' was chosen through its crowd-sourcing smartphone naming campaign #YUNameit.

The specs of Yu Yuphoria is still a mystery. But Yu previously on its social platform teased some of specs of Yuphoria which include 64-bit processor, 16GB internal storage, 2GB RAM and will run Android Lollipop based Cyanogen Mod 12OS.

The Yu Yuphoria, just like its predecessor is expected to be priced under Rs. 10,000 and be available exclusively via Amazon India.
