Asus introduces new Zenfone 2 variants with Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs at Computex
Asus announced new variants of the ZenFone 2 smartphone at Computex 2015 in Taipei. The new variants include - Asus ZenFone 2 ZE600KL, ZE550KL (with 5-inch and 5.5-inch display). All these phones are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processors instead of Intel's Atom chipsets. All run Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box with Zen UI on top.
The Asus ZenFone 2 (ZE600KL) features 6-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and is powered by octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor with Adreno 405 GPU. The phone packs 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. It will also be available with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.
Camera features include 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, Real Tone flash, Laser Auto Focus and 5-megapixel selfie camera on the front. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and Dual-SIM support. It is fuelled by 3000mAh battery.
The Asus ZenFone 2 (ZE550KL) comes in two display models - 5-inch and 5.5-inch. The 5-inch Asus ZenFone 2 (ZE550KL) sports HD display with 1280 x 720 pixel and Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Under the hood there is a 1.2GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor paired with Adreno 306 GPU and 2GB RAM. The phone comes with 16GB internal storage and microSD card slot for storage expansion. It sports 13-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, Real Tone flash, Laser Auto focus and 5-megapixel front shooter. Connectivity options include Dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It is backed by 3000mAh battery.
The 5.5-inch ZenFone 2 (ZE550KL) features identical specs as 5-inch display model of ZE550KL. However, it will also be available with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage.
There is one more model of 5.5-inch ZenFone 2 with 1080p or 720p display, Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection and powered by Snapdragon 615 processor. Other specs are similar to ZenFone 2 ZE600KL.
There is no word of pricing and availability details of the Asus' new ZenFone 2 models.
