Gionee Marathon M5 with 6020mAh battery goes official
Gionee has unveiled the Marathon M5 smartphone that comes with dual-battery setup. The phone comes with two 3010 battery cells offering a total battery capacity of 6020mAh.
Gionee claims that the Marathon M5 has the largest battery capacity in the world. It comes with an extreme mode where 5% of battery life can ensure up to 62 hours of standby time. It also comes with dual charging chips for fast charging as well. The phone offers two days of regular usage, and lasts four days on normal usage. The Marathon M5 can be even used as a power bank to charge two phone at the same time.
The Gionee M5 Marathon features 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED HD display and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor paired with 2GB RAM. The phone comes with 16GB internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. It runs Android Lollipop based Amigo UI.
Camera features include 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 5-megapixel front shooter for taking selfies. Connectivity options include LTE, WiFi and Bluetooth. The Marathon M5 is 8.5mm thin with the outer rim measuring 4.75mm. It comes in Black, White and Gold colors. It sports a metal finish unibody design.
Gionee's Marathon M5 is priced at 2299 Yuan ($370 | Rs. 23,500) and will go on sale starting June 25 and is expected to launch in more regions later this year.
