Gionee Elife E8 with 24-megapixel rear camera announced


Gionee has officially launched the company's flagship smartphone - the Elife E8 at an event in Beijing, China.

Gionee Elife S8 features 6-inch (2560 x 1400 pixels) Quad HD AMOLED display and is powered by 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio X 10 (MT6795) processor paired with PowerVR G6200 GPU and 3GB RAM. The phone comes with 64GB of internal storage and microSD card slot for storage expansion of up to 128GB. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Amigo UI 3.1 on top.

The Elife S8 sports 24-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, 1/2.3" sensor, 6P lenses, OIS and 4K video recording. On the front there is an 8-megapixel shooter for taking selfies. The rear camera is capable of shooting up to 120-megapixel images.

Connectivity features include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, GPS and NFC. It also supports dual SIM. A 3520mAh battery fuels the Elife S8. The Phone has a fingerprint sensor on the back for secure locking. Gionee has partnered with WeBank to launch Gionee Wallet. It also has dual stereo speakers with DTS support.

Gionee's Elife E8 is priced at 3999 Yuan ($640 | Rs. 41,000) and will hit the shelves starting July 15.
