Ily is a modern family phone for your home to stay connected with your family

Ily is a communication device created by New York based startup Insensi. It allows users to stay connected with their family and friends while they are at home. It is not really a smartphone or tablet, but is meant to stay at your home always powered and available when you need it. The aim here is to replace the traditional phone with something that is worthy of technologically advanced and useful.

The functions are similar to that of a smartphone, infact in terms of size it looks like a tablet. Ily has an 8-inch touch screen display with 1024 x 768 pixels resolution that display icons with images of your family and friends. You can tap on these icone and tell Ily what method of communication to use.

Ily can work as your regular landline service and you can also connect it to your smartphone via Bluetooth, allowing it to be used as a speaker or headset. Communication can be done via integrated speakers and microphone, or you can pick up the wireless handset. When Ily is connected to internet, it gives you access to a variety of features. The camera can be used for online voice, text and video calls with family member or friends.

Ily comes with free apps for both Android and iOS, so you can interact with your loved ones when they are travelling. You can even draw and share images, access spotify and more. You can have more than one unit of Ily in one home and can share content between each other.

Ily is up for pre-order now at a discounted price of US$ 199. The price will raise to US$299 when it launches this fall. You can also get discount when you buy more than on unit. Intensi sells 2 for US$189 each and 3 for US$185 each.
