OnePlus 2 will have a fingerprint sensor that's faster than Touch ID

OnePlus has confirmed that its second smartphone, the OnePlus 2 will pack a finger print sensor. The company made a bold statement claiming that OnePlus 2's finger print sensor will be faster than Apple's iPhone Touch ID sensor.

OnePlus in its latest blog post said "It’s refined and lightning quick, unlocking your device faster than TouchID. The average person checks their phone over 200 times per day. If you spend just three seconds inputting a PIN number or pattern, that’s over an hour of your time gone each week,”. OnePlus further revealed that the OnePlus 2 will let you store up to five finger print profiles.

OnePlus has been dropping breadcrumbs every week, revealing OnePlus 2 features. Already confirmed specs include Qualcomm Snapdrgon 810 v2.1 SoC and USB Type-C port. The next feature of OnePlus 2 will be revealed on July 7. As for rumors, the OnePlus 2 is expected to offer a premium metallic build with high screen-to-body ratio.

The OnePlus 2 will be announced on July 27 7:30pm PT, for India July 28 7:30am IST  in a virtual reality event.
