New Microsoft Surface Pro 3 with i7 CPU and 128GB storage can be yours for $1,299
Microsoft's Surface Pro 3 is touted as the tablet than can replace your laptop. It offers all the advantages of the tablet along with all the performance of a solid laptop. Right now Microsoft is selling five models of the Surface Pro 3, that comes in different configuration with up to Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB RAM and 512GB storage.
Now the company has introduced a sixth model to its range of Surface Pro 3. This model comes with the same 1.7GHz Intel Core i7 processor and 8GB RAM featured in the higher end model, but cuts down on storage to 128GB. It's worth noting, the higher end models came with Intel Core i7 processor and 8GB RAM, but had two storage variants - 256GB and 512GB for $1549 and $1949 respectively. It runs Windows 8.1 Pro and is upgradable to Windows 10.
Microsoft Surface Pro 3 features 12-inch ClearType Full HD Plus display with bearing 2160 x 1440 resolution. It sports 5-megapixel HD front and rear facing camera. There is also built-in front & rear facing microphone and Stereo speakers with Dolby Audio enhanced sound. It ships with a neat stylus called Surface Pen that has 256 pressure sensitivity levels. The processor supports TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module for enterprise security and BitLocker encryption).
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11ac/802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0, microSD card reader, mini DisplayPort, cover port and charging port. It offers up to nine hours of battery life and packs Ambient light, Accelerometer, Gyroscope and Magnetometer sensors.
The downgrade of storage capacity also bring a reduction in price. It costs $1,299 and is available for order from Microsoft store. Microsoft is also introducing updated LTE Surface 3 models in Germany and UK this week and in the U.S in the coming weeks.
