OnePlus 2 will pack 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM

OnePlus has revealed that its upcoming flagship, OnePlus 2 will pack 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. The company says that LODDR4 RAM offers faster loading times, smoother gameplay and better power efficiency. It offers twice the bandwith perfomance and data transfer speed as compared to LPDDR3 RAM.

Why did we choose LPDDR4 for the OnePlus 2? Another notable benefit is lower power consumption for better battery efficiency. That means you’ll be able to use your favorite apps (and more) without draining the battery. With LPDDR4, you get twice the bandwidth performance as the LPDDR3 at the same power consumption profile. The RAM of the OnePlus 2 uses a lower operating voltage than its predecessor, decreasing from 1.2V to 1.1V. And with speeds up to 32 GB/s, it is also twice as fast as the LPDDR3. It offers optimal support for power-saving low frequency mode that brings clock speeds down when performing those everyday and necessary tasks.

According to OnePlus the RAM will boost the user experience on the OnePlus when gaming or using power-intensive features like slow-motion video and face recognition. "Unlike 32-bit processors that can only utilize up to 3GB of RAM, our 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor uses all 4GB to its maximum potential."

OnePlus has been revealing the specs of OnePlus 2 in bits and pieces. So far the company has announced that the OnePlus 2 will feature Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 SoC, USB Type-C port and finger print sensor. It will be priced below $450 (Rs 28,000)

The OnePlus 2 will be unveiled on July 27 at a Virtual Reality event. To watch the event, OnePlus is offering its own Google Cardboard like VR headsets, which will be available via Amazon India for Rs. 99 soon.
