Philips Xenium I908, S309 launched in India


Philips Mobile launched two new Android smartphones in the Indian market, the Xenium I908 and Xenium S309. The handsets run Android 4.4 KitKat, have dual-SIM support and supports 3G connectivity. Unfortunately they lack support for 4G LTE.

Philips Xenium I908 sports a plastic body with a leather-finish rear panel for better grip. The handset features -inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display and is powered by 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor with Mali-450 GPU, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage (12.7GB available), further expandable via microSD card up to 32GB. Camerwise, it sports 13-megapixel rear camera with CMOS sensor, f/2.2 aperture and LED flash. On the front there is a 5-megapixel shooter for selfie lovers. Apart from 3G, the handset also supports WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, micro-USB 2.0 and A-GPS connectivity. It is fueled by 3000mAh battery which promises 25 hours of talktime and 1090 hours of standby time. It comes in black and white colors.

Philips Xenium S309 is an entry-level handset with low-end specs. It features 4-inch (480 x 800 pixels) TFT display and is equipped with 1GHz dual-core processor aided by 512MB RAM. On-board storage is 4GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 32GB. For imaging there is a 5-megapixel auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and CMOS, front there is a 0.3-megapixel VGA camera. It supports the usual suite of connectivity options and is fueled by 1600mAh battery, which promises 9.5 hours of talk time and 500 hours of standby time. It comes in black and red flavors.

The Philips Xenium I908 has been priced at Rs. 11,799 and the entry-level Philips S309 will be available for Rs 4,999. Philips Mobile will partner with Redington as their distribution partner to their products available across all geographies in India.
