Cherry Mobile One G1 Android One phone launched in Philippines


Last month Google launched the second generation of Android One smartphone in India dubbed Lava Pixel V1. The latest Android One Phone was a major improvement over the first gen. 

Now the Second Gen Android One phone has reached PhPhilippines with the launch of 'Cherry Mobile G1'. The handset offers decent specs while maintaining its budget friendly price tag. This is Cherry Mobile's second Android One device. The Android One initiative was launched in Philippines in February this year. Cherry Mobile was Google's OEM partner.

Cherry Mobile G1 features 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display with Asahi Dragontrail Glass protection and oleophobic coating .Inside therfe is an 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor paired with Adreno 306 GPU and 2GB DDR3 RAM. On-board storage is 16GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 32GB. It runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and has dual-SIM slots. There is a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and On the front there is an 5-megapixel camera. On the connectivity front it supports 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG and GPS. It is fueled by 2500mAh battery. Just like other Android One devices, the G1 will also get OS updates straight from Google for 2 years.

Cherry Mobile G1 is priced at Php 5,999 ($128) in the Phillippines. It will be available in two weeks at select Cherry Mobile stores and kiosks.
