Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 and Snapdragon 412 SoCs announced


Qualcomm, which makes software and chips used in smartphones and tablets has launched two new processors, the Snapdragon 212 and Snapdragon 412. The new processor are aimed at adding more capability to low-end smartphone.

The Snapdragon 212  features ARM Cortex A7 quad-core SoC clocked up to 1.3GHz and has Adreno 304 GPU. The low end-processor also supports 1080p video playback with H.265 (HEVC), Display up to 720p, LPDDR2/LPDDR3 at 533MHz, eMMC 4.5 SD 3.0 (UHS-I), up to 8MP camera support, 1080p Full HD video recording, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.1 + BLE, NFC, GPS, Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 and LTE multimode Dual SIM support with Dual Standby

The Snapdragon 412 SoC features Cortex A53 quad-core chipset clocked at up to 1.4GHz. The 64-bit capable SoC has Adreno 306 GPU for graphics and performance improvements. It supporrts 1080p video playback, Display up to WUXGA (1920×1200), 720p external display; LPDDR2/3 600MHz Single-channel 32-bit (4.8 GBps) non-POP, eMMC 4.51 SD 3.0 (UHS-I), LTE multimode multi-SIM (TSTS, DSDA and DSDS), up to 13.5MP camera support, Wi-Fi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.1 + BLE and Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0. It comes integrated with X5 LTE modem and supports up to Cat 4 speeds (150 Mbps). 

Qualcomm did not reveal  the availability details of these processors for OEMs.
