Xiaomi launches the Made in India Redmi 2 Prime for Rs. 6,999


Xiaomi, at an event inhas officially unveiled the Redmi 2 Prime, the company’s first Made in India smartphone.  This smartphone was announced by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is manufactured at Xiaomi and Foxconn facility in Andhra Pradesh. The handset is similar to the original Redmi 2, but has double RAM and storage. It also supports LTE bands in India. 

Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime features 4.7-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display with AGC Dragontrail Glass protection. Inside there is an 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor with Adreno 305 GPU, 2GB RAM and 16GB on-board storage (expandable up to 32GB via microSD card). For imaging, there is an 8-megapixel camera on the rear that has LED flash, BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture, Omnivision sensor and 1080p video recording capabilities. On the front there is a 2-megapixel shooter for taking selfies. The front camera can record 720p HD videos. Redmi 2 Prime runs Android 4.4 KitKat with MIUI 6 on top, has dual-SIM slot and supports 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB OTG. It is fueled by 2200mAh battery and comes in dark grey and white colors.

The Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime  is priced at Rs. 6,999 and will be available on Mi.com and across all Mi India partners including Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal starting from today.
