Coolpad Rogue, a $50 phone with Android 5.1 Lollipop, 4G LTE for USA

Chinese mobile brand Coolpad has launched an ultra-budget friendly smartphone dubbed Rogue in the U.S. Coolpad has teamed up with T-Mobile, a U.S based telecom carrier to sell Rogue. The phone supports 4G LTE networks and runs customized version of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

Coolpad Rogue has a 4-inch WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) display and is powered by 1.1GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor with Adreno 304 GPU and 1GB RAM. It houses 4GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable via microSD card up to 32GB.

For imaging, there is 2-megapixel rear camera and 0.3-megapixel VGA front facing camera. Apart from 4G LTE, the handset supports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, 3G, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and Micro-USB connectivity. On a single charge, it delivers up to 6 hours of talk time and 200 hours of standby time.

Coolpad Rogue is priced at $49.99 and will be available to buy via T-Mobile online and offline stores starting from September 30.

The specs aren't anything special. But for $50, the Rogue is a viable option for first-time smartphone buyers or for parents looking for an inexpensive handset for their kids.

At the said price, Coolpad Rogue becomes the world's most affordable smartphone with support for 4G LTE networks.
