Sony Xperia Z5 gets official


Sony has announced its latest flagship, Xperia Z5 at IFA 2015 in Berlin. The phone has a metal frame and frosted glass on the back and the Xperia logo is engraved on the side. It comes in single SIM variant and dual-SIM variant, Xperia Z5 Dual, depending on the market.

Xperia Z5 has a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button. It has IPX5 / IPX8 ratings for dust and water resistance with capless USB. The phone also has Sony's LDAC audio compression codec that promises high-quality wireless music playback and high-quality experience. It is 7.3mm thick and weighs 154 grams

Sony Xperia Z5 features 5.2-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS Triluminous display and is powered by octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor with Adreno 430 GPU, 3GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage. There is microSD card slot that accepts up to 200GB microSD card. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop. 

For imaging there is a 23-megapixel rear camera with 1/2.3″ Sony Exmor RS image sensor, f/2.0 aperture, Sony G lens, Hybrid AF speed of 0.03s, 5x clear image zoom without loss of quality, 4K video recording. On the front sits a 5-megapixel 1080p front-facing camera with EXMOR R sensor. 

On the connectivity front Xperia Z5 supports 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11a / b / g / n / ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ GLONASS, MHL 3.0, NFC. It is fueled by 2900mAh battery which supports STAMINA mode and Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0.

Sony's Xperia Z5 comes in White, Graphite Black, Gold and Green colors and will hit the global markets in October.
