Sony Xperia Z5 compact with 4.6-inch display announced

Sony at IFA 2015 also announced the Xperia Z5 Compact, a smal-screen, compact and easily pocketable phone. The phone is 8.9mm thick and weighs 138 grams.

Just like Xperia Z5, Sony's Xperia Z5 Compact has IPX5 /IPX8 ratings for dust and water resistance. It also comes with Sony's LDAC audio compression codec that promises high-quality wireless music playback and high-quality music experience. The finger print sensor is built in to the side positioned lock key.

Sony Xperia Z5 compact comes with a smalled 4.6-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS Triluminos display with X-Reality for mobiles. Inside there is an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor further aided by Adreno 430 GPU and 2GB RAM. On-board storage is 32GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 32GB. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Camerawise its packs a 23-megapixel rear camera with 1/2.3″ Sony Exmor RS image sensor, f/2.0 aperture, Sony G lens, Hybrid AF speed of 0.03s, 5x clear image zoom without loss of quality and 4K video recording capabilities. On the front sits a 5-megapixel 1080p front-facing camera with EXMOR R sensor.

Connectivity options includes 4G LTE / 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11a / b / g / n / ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS/ GLONASS, MHL 3.0 and NFC. It is backed by 2700mAh battery that comes with STAMINA mode.

The Sony Xperia Z5 Compact comes in White, Graphite Black, Yellow and Coral color variants. It will starting rolling out globally starting October.
