Sony Xperia Z5 Premium is the world's first smartphone boasting a 4K display
Along with Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Compact, Sony has taken wraps off the Xperia Z5 Premium which is undoubtedly Sony's biggest announcement at IFA 2015, Berlin. Xperia Z5 Premium is the world's first smartphone boasting an insane 4K UHD display, which means it has four times as many pixels as a Full HD display.
Sony Xperia Z5 Premium features a 5.5-inch 4K Ultra-HD Trilumonos display with X-Reality engine and has a pixel density of 806ppi. The 4K display basically enhances any third party video or photos to 4K resolution, so you can now enjoy viewing Netflix, YouTube or your ultra-high quality clips in super high resolution.
Inside there is an octa-core Snapdragon 810 SoC with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, further expandable up to 200GB via microSD card. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Camerawise, it sports 23-megapixel rear camera with 1/2.3 Exmor RS for mobile sensor and f/2.0 G lens. Since it supports 4K video recording, you can view captured videos in the same resolution directly on the phone itself. on the front there is 5-megapixel selfie camera that can shoot Full HD videos.
On the connectivity front it supports 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi ac, NFC, DLNA, Miracast and video-out via MHL 3.0, Bluetooth and A-GPS. It is fueled by 3430mAh battery and supports Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 technology.The phone has a finger print scanner integrated into the oval-shaped power button of the device. It is IPX5 / IPX8 rated for water and dust resistance. It also comes with Sony's LDAC audio compression codec that promises high-quality wireless music playback and high-quality music experience.
Sony Xperia Z5 Premium comes in Chrome, Black and Gold Colors. It will be available in Single and Dual SIM variants will hit global market starting November.
