The Japan exclusive HTC J Butterfly HTV31 goes international as 'HTC Butterfly 3'
Besides introducing a new variant of One M9+, HTC also announced HTC Butterfly 3, the international variant of the J Butterfly HTV31, which was launched exclusively for Japan back in May this year. The international variant is identical to the Japanese variant in terms of specifications.
The HTC Butterfly 3 features 5.2-inch Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) IPS LCD3 display. Inside there is a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 MSM8994 (quad-core 2GHz + quad-core 1.5GHz) SoC, clubbed with Adreno 430 GPU and 3GB RAM. On-board storage is 32GB, further expandable via microSD card slot up to 2TB. It runs HTC Sense 7 UI on top and supports 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, MHL 3.0, NFC, and GPS with GLONASS.
There is a 20-megapixel DuoCamera setup at the back with an additional depth-of-field camera sensor, a dual-LED flash, a sapphire cover lens, a BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture, and 4K video recording. On the front sits a 13-megapixel selfie camera capable of recording 1080p videos.
It also has dual front-facing stereo speakers with Dolby Audio under its top and bottom bezels, and is IPX5 / IPX7 and IP5X certified for water and dust resistant. It is fueled by 2700mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 2.0 tech.
Priced at NT$19,900 ($600 | Rs. 40,000), the HTC Butterfly 3 will go on sale in Taiwan starting October 20. It comes in White, Carmine and Midnight Blue colors. The global availability and pricing details are yet to be known.
