UMi Fair with fingerprint sensor released for $99

UMi has released its latest smartphone called the UMi Fair and it is touted to be the world’s cheapest smartphone with a fingerprint sensor.

The fingerprint sensor  features a self-learning algorithm and can store up to 5 fingerprints and is said to unlock the phone in just 0.32 seconds with over 99% accuracy. The fingerprint sensor sits on the back just below the camera.

UMi Fair features 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display and is powered by 1 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor coupled with Mali T720 GPU and 1GB RAM. On-board storage is 8GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 64GB. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop.

There is 13-megapixel camera with Sony IMX164 sensor, f/2.2 aperture, dual LED Flashon the backside to capture photos and video. On the front sits a 2-megapixel camera. The phone has dual-SIM slot and supports 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS connectivity. It is fueled by 2250mAh battery.
