Android One handsets start receiving Android 6.0 Marshmallow
Google started rolling out Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for Nexus devices and now its time for the Android One devices.
As per reports Android One devices are getting Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update in India. The Android One devices that are receiving the update include Micromax Canvas A1, Spice Dream UNO Mi-498 and Karbonn Sparkle V. Unfortunately there are no details about the update for Lava Pixel V1 and about Android One handsets of other markets.
The update size is 338.1 for all Android One smartphones which share the same ROM. The update is said to bring the device to build number MRA58M.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow concentrates on six major things- App permission, Web experience, App Links, Mobile Payment, Fingerprint support and Power & Charging. There will also be native support for USB Type-C. To know the new features in detail click here.
Android One smartphones are entry-level phones loaded with Stock Android with just enough features to create value for emerging markets. The hardware is built by smartphone manufacturer using designs and standards provided by Google, which in turn does the marketing of these devices. The software updates to these devices comes straight from Google.
