Gionee Elife E8 launching in India on October 8

Chinese smartphone maker Gionee has announced that it would launch the Gionee Elife E8, in India on October 8. The company has sent out invites for the same. The Gionee Elife E8 was announced back in June in China for 3999 RMB (Rs. 41,000) and is the successor to the Elife E7 and, won rave reviews for its design, superb camera and overall functionality.

Gionee Elife E8 features 6-inch Quad HD display w/ Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and is equipped with 2GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor with PowerVR G6200 GPU, 3GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Amigo UI 3.1 on top. It sports 23.7MP (w/ dual tone) LED flash rear and 8MP front facing camera. It has dual-SIM slot, Fingerprint sensor, 4G LTE support and is fueled by 3520mAh battery.

Interestingly, it is expected to be online exclusive, something we have never seen from Gionee in the past. The company has announced that it will tie-up with a leading e-commerce player in India to sell the smartphone. It could be Flipkart, as it is listed on the e-commerce site.

The announcement comes just a few weeks after Gionee announced its plans to make some of its handsets in India.
