Meizu Blue Charm Metal with Helio X10 SoC, YunOS announced


Chinese smartphone maker Meizu has announced the Blue Charm Metal, the company's first smartphone that runs on Alibaba's YunOS with Flyme UI on top. The handset has a unibody custom metal alloy build which contains some cobalt, titanium and other rare metals in it, making it lighter and more durable.

The Meizu Blue Charm Metal features 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) LTPS display with 2.5D curved glass and T2X-1 glass protection. Inside there is a 2GHz MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core 64-bit processor with PowerVR G6200 GPU and 2GB LPDDR3 RAM. It comes in two storage options- 16GB or 32GB. It has Hybrid dual SIM slot, the second SIM slot can be used as microSD card slot if needed.

For imaging, it is equipped with 13-megapixel rear camera with dual tone LED flash, 5P lenses, f/2.2 aperture and PDAF. On the front sits a 5-megapixel camera for clicking selfies and making video calls.

On the connectivity front, it supports 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS. It is fueled by a 3140mAh battery. Also on-board is a mTouch 2.1 fingerprint sensor from FCP integrated into the home button that can unlock the phone in 0.48 seconds and the mBack touch-sensitive button offers different functions depending on how hard you press it.


The device measures 150.7 x 75.3 x 8.2mm, weighs 162g and even though the body is made out of metal, it comes in a range of color options as well including White, Gold, Grey, Blue and Pink colors.

The Meizu Blue Charm Metal is priced at 1099 Yuan (Rs. 11,000 | $ 170) for the 16GB variant and 1299 Yuan (Rs. 13,300 | $204) for the 32GB variants. It will be available in China starting November 2.
