Xiaomi unveils 60-inch 4K Mi TV 3
Xiaomi's teasers in the last few days included hints about an upcoming product with large screen, and that was a MiTV upgrade. Xiaomi has unveiled the Mi TV 3, its 60-inch smart TV with a 4K display from LG with MEMC motion compensation for super clean motion images.
The Mi TV 3 comes in two different parts- the display and the logic board, called the Mi TV main board, which can transform standard TVs or displays into a smart TV. It comes with a speaker and mother board.
The Mi TV 3 has a metal backplate, and on the side is a full aluminum plate with diamond pattern. It is 11.6 mm at its thinnest and 36.7mm at its thickest.
The Mi TV main board can be connected to the Mi TV 3 and also has the capabilities to work with any compatible display panel, projector or VR headset to deliver advanced multimedia experience. It looks more like a sound bar and can be placed under the display.
These have two dome tweeters, and four 2.5-inch sub-woofers, with the frequency range of speakers being 60 Hz to 22 KHz. It has Dolby MS12 Virtual Surround Sound and Bass Boost technology.
It has three HDMI ports, two USB ports, a VGA port, Ethernet port, Mi Port and a modulator. For wireless connectivity there is WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 4.1 LE.
The screen cost accounts for 70% of the TV and the motherboard cost accounts for 20%, said the company. Xiaomi also said that the display will last for 10 years and you can replace the motherboard every 18 months.
The Xiaomi Mi TV 3 is priced at CNY 4999 ($785 | Rs. 51,000). It comes with a separate 6.5-inch Mi Sub-woofer with aluminum body, wired and Bluetooth connectivity for CNY 599 ($ 94 | Rs. 6,100) and Bluetooth voice remote control with 6-axis sensor for CNY 99 ($16 | Rs. 1,000).
The Mi TV main board will also be available separately for CNY 999 ($160 | Rs. 10,000). The Mi TV 3 will be available in China starting from November 3.
