Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is coming to India by January 2016, confirms Satya Nadella


At Microsoft's Future Unleashed event in Mumbai, India, CEO Satya Nadella announced that the latest Surface Pro 4 tablet will launch in India by January 2016. He said that Microsoft had a lot of demand for Surface devices from India, hence they are finally bringing it. Apart from the availability no other details were shared.

The Microsoft Suface Pro 4 was unveiled at the Windows 10 devices event in October. It was priced starting $899 (Rs. 59,000). The Surface Pro 4 will be the first Surface device to make its debut in India.

The Surface Pro 4 sports a 12.3-inch (2160 x 1440 pixels) display and has a new display technology called PixelGlass, that has 1024 different pressure sensitivity level. Inside there is Intel's latest Skylake processors with support for up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. It is equipped with 8-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front facing camera. It runs Windows 10 Pro

The tablet supports Windows Hello face authentication using the camera as well as fingerprint sensor for authentication on the new Type Cover. The Type Cover offers a laptop-like keyboard experience with a large trackpad. There is also a stylus simply dubbed the Pen, which offers 1,024 levels of pressure and can last more than a year with a single charge.
