YU partners with Reliance Retail, will now sell its smartphones offline
Following the footsteps of Xiaomi and Motorola, Micromax subsidary, YU Televentures will start selling its smartphones offline in partnership with Reliance Retail. Starting from today YU Yureka Plus, Yuphoria and Yunique smartphone will be available at over 30,000 retail outlets in India, beginning with New Delhi.
Up until this partnership was announced, YU smartphones were only available via select e-commerce portals, but now customers can walk into a Reliance Retail outlet and purchase the YU smartphones for themselves. This move will allow customers to get a first hand experience of the smartphones before purchasing. It will also reduce the waiting time as consumer can just walk in the showroom and pick up a device for themselves directly.
YU also announced that the YU Yureka Plus, Yuphoria and Yunique smartphone models will support VoLTE now, which will benefit from the network roll out from Reliance in the coming weeks. The VoLTE enabled models of the Yuphoria, Yureka Plus, and the Yunique are priced at Rs. 7,999, Rs. 10,999 and Rs. 6,499. respectively.
Yu Televentures founder Rahul Sharma said- "Yu Televentures has inked a strategic partnership with Reliance Retail with an aim to bring the devices to the customer to have a touch and feel of the models. It is an exclusive retail sales and distribution partnership to enhance the availability of popular voice over LTE (VoLTE) mobile devices across India,"
