Datawind PC 7SC, Rs. 2,999 tablet with free internet browsing for one year

Datawind, known more as the company behind Akash tablet has launched a new tablet called PC 7SC in India. The company has partnered with RCom and Telenor network to offer free internet browsing via UbiSurfer browser for one year with the tablet.

RCom and Telenor will be providing the prepaid GSM sim for this tablet to offer free internet. However, Datawind says that free access to Internet would not include audio/video streaming or local-downloads. This will require a separate data plan.

The tablet utilises Datawind's web delivery platform, which offers to deliver the fastest mobile web experience on regular GSM-EDGE networks. This reduces bandwidth consumption by factors of 10x to 30x, says the company. It delivers web pages even on congested GPRS networks in five to seven seconds (with faster speeds of 3G and 4G networks).

Coming to the specs, the Datawind PC 7SC sports a 7-inch WVGA display and is equipped with 1.3GHz processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB expandable storage and VGA rear camera. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat and supports dual-SIM, 2G voice calling, 3G via dongle, WiFi and Bluetooth, and is fueled by 2400mAh battery, which promises eight hours of mixed usage.

The Datawind PC 7SC is priced at Rs. 2,999 and will be available online via Snapdeal, as well aas on Den Snapdeal TV-Shop.
