YU Yuphoria to receive Cyanogen OS 12.1 update from today


Last month, YU started rolling out Cyanoge OS 12.1 update based on Android 5.1 Lollipop for the Yureka and Yureka Plus smartphones. YU at that time also promised to bring the same update to Yuphoria.

Now, Rahul Sharma, Co-founder and CEO, YU on his twitter account tweeted that Cyanogen OS 12.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop has been certified by Google CTS for Yuphoria and will roll out from tonight.The update will be rolled out in phases over the coming two weeks, so everyone will not get it right away.

The Cyanogen OS 12.1 update brings enhanced responsiveness, performance improvements and better thermal control. In addition it comes with a redesigned launcher, smarter screen with improved automatic brightness control, integration of calendar together with email via boxer, updated AudioFX and increased supports of codec for video and audio playback.

To recap, the YU Yuphoria was launched in May, priced at Rs. 6,999. It features 5-inch HD display 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 64-bit processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, microSD card slot, 8-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, 4G LTE supports and 2230mAh battery with Quick Charge support.
