YU Yutopia launch delayed to December 17


YU has delayed the launch of its flagship Yutopia smartphone. The launch date is now set for December 18 instead of December 7. To remind you, last year on December 18, the YU brand was first announced with the launch of Yureka smartphone. 

Co-Founder and CEO, Rahul Sharma tweeted that YU plans to announce something special on the said date with Yutopia, but it is not known if it will be a new accessory or another smartphone.

YU, online only brand of Micromax is known for its budget smartphones is looking to tap the flagship phone market with the Yutopia. The Yutopia is expected to be YU's costliest phone yet and the company claims its to be the most powerful phone to date.

So far, the confirmed specs of Yutopia include metal build, Quad HD display, internal storage and Quick charge support. According to rumors, YU Yutopia will feature 5.2-inch QHD display, 1.5GHz octa-core Snapdragon 810 SoC, 4GB RAM, 32GB expandable storage, 21-megapixel rear camera w/ LED flash, 8-megapixel front facing camera, Android 5.1 Lollipop based on Cyanogen OS 12.1 and 4G LTE support.
