Samsung Galaxy A3, A5, A7 2016 Edition are now official
Samsung has officially introduced the Galaxy A series 2016 edition that comprises of Galaxy A7, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A3. They sport the same premium design as the A series 2015 edition, but feature metal and glass finish instead of matte metal finish, and the design language is reminiscent of the Galaxy S6. They run Android 5.1 Lollipop.
There is a fingerprint scanner integrated into the home key of both Galaxy A5 (2016) and A7 (2016) and support for Samsung Pay. The A5 and A7 2016 edition also gets an improved camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) to prevent image blurring, and the front and rear F1.9 lens that allows users to take the optimum photos in dark conditions. They also support fast charging.
Specwise, the Galaxy A5 and A7 2016 edition share similar specs but differ in their screen sizes, RAM and battery capacity. The Galaxy A7 (2016) sports a 5.5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display and packs a 3GB RAM and 3300mAh battery, while the Galaxy A5 (2016) sports a 5.2-inch display of the same resolution, packs 2GB RAM and is fueled by a 2900mAh battery. Both are equipped with Exynos 7 Octa processor clocked at 1.6GHz and on-board storage capacity of 16GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 128GB. They sport 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front facing camera.
The Galaxy A3 (2016) sports a compact 4.7-inch 720p display and is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Exynos processor, aided by 1.5GB RAM. On-board storage capacity is 16GB, further expandable via microSD card up to 128GB. For photography it is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera. It is fueled by 2300mAh battery.
The Galaxy A3, A5, A7 will be available mid-December in China, followed by global rollout in January. They come in Black, Sapphire, Platinum and White Pearl colors. Unfortunately, there is no word on pricing.
