Lenovo ThinkPad P40 Yoga is a 2-in-1 workstation
Lenovo has announced ThinkPad P40 Yoga, a 2-in-1 convertible mobile workstation, which can be used in stand, tent and tablet modes. The P40 Yoga is claimed to offer a "first-class digital sketching experience" and is aimed at creative professionals in need of a powerful digital sketching and design tool.
The Lenovo ThinkPad P40 Yoga offers 14-inch display either in Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) or Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolutions. It runs Windows 10 and is powered by an 6th gen Intel Core i7 CPU, with up to 16GB DDR3L RAM and NVIDIA Quadro M500M GPU with 2GB video RAM. It comes with 512GB SSD and has three USB 3.0 ports, mini DisplayPort and HDMI ports, and a Gigabit Ethernet jack.
The convertible is said to provide a "first-class digital sketching experience" through a Super Capacitor Pen and touchscreen powered by Wacom Active ES technology. It promises both 2,048 levels of pressure and specially tuned software that gets closer to the pen to paper feel. The pen can deliver up to 8 hours of use in 30 seconds of charge.
The P40 Yoga includes a Lift 'n' Lock keyboard design which raises the level of the keyboard to help protect the keys in tablet mode. Other features include MIL-spec durability and Lenovo's single-core OneLink+ docking connection.
The Lenovo ThinkPad P40 Yoga prices start at $1399 and will be available in Q1 2016
