Google Calendar gets Smart Suggestions in 30 languages, 54 new country-based holiday calendars
Google's new update to the Calendar app bring smart suggestion feature for event tiles, places and people in more than 30 different languages, and new country based holiday calendars.
Google says that the 'Smart Suggestion' feature lets you quickly create events. How the feature works? When you begin typing an event, the calendar will automatically start giving you suggestions, from which you will have to choose one you plan on going. Tap "at" to add a location and tap "with" to add people to the event. Finally, tapping “on” will allow you to specify the exact date, time and duration of the event.
The newly supported languages are: Arabic (ar), Chinese (Simplified) (zh-CN), Chinese (Traditional) (zh-TW), Dutch (nl), English (UK) (en-GB), French (fr), German (de), Italian (it), Japanese (ja), Korean (ko), Polish (pl), Portuguese (Brazil) (pt-BR), Russian (ru), Spanish (es), Spanish (Latin America) (es-419), Thai (th), Turkish (tr), Bulgarian (bg), Catalan (ca), Croatian (hr), Czech (cs), Danish (da), Farsi (fa), Filipino (fil), Finnish (fi), Greek (el), Hebrew (iw), Hindi (hi), Hungarian (hu), Indonesian (id), Latvian (lv), Lithuanian (lt), Norwegian (Bokmal) (no), Portuguese (Portugal) (pt-PT), Romanian (ro), Serbian (sr), Slovak (sk), Slovenian (sl), Swedish (sv), Ukrainian (uk), Vietnamese (vi)
Additionally, Google has added 54 new country-based holiday calendars to the Calendar app. Now you can get a total of 143 holiday calendars directly on your mobile calendar. To add or change the national holidays, tap on the Menu icon on the calendar app, than go to settings > Holidays and you will be able add current or new country, or even remove the country you selected.
The new updates to Calendar app is available for both Android and iOS devices and Google says it will take two or three day to hit your devices.
