Huawei P9 may come in four versions
Huawei in 2015, released three P8 smartphones, the regular 5.2-inch P8, affordable 5-inch P8 Lite and the giant 6.8-inch P8max. Now, if a new report from Venturebeat is to be believed, Huawei will release four variants of the P9.
The report says that the four P9 variants will be called P9, P9 Lite, P9 Max and an upgraded P9 that will come with enhanced feature. Just like the P8 series, the P9 will be a regular device, while the P9 Lite and P9 Max will be budget friendly devices.
The fourth variant, that is going to be a premium model is yet to have a name. It is expected to come with more RAM, more storage space and an improved camera, which is the highlight of the device. It will sport a dual lens, dual (12-megapixel) sensor, which is the second gen technology of what was used in Honor 6 Plus. The additional sensor-lens combo is said to offer new tricks like post-capture refocus, simulated aperture adjustment and filter application.
The P9 fourth variant will have a display that is larger than the P9, but smaller than P9 Max. None of the P9 models will have a QHD display, because Huawei dosen't want to sacrifice battery life over marginal gains in screen quality. Unfortunately, there is no information about the complete specifications.
Apparently Huawei will not launch the P9 and its variants during MWC 2016, instead they will host a separate event sometime in March.
