Lava launches P7 for Rs. 5,499 with promise of Android Marshmallow


Lava Mobiles launched its latest low-cost smartphone, the P7 in India. The phone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, but the brand has promised upgrade to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in the coming months.

The Lava P7 sports a 5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) display with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass on top to protect it from scratch. Under the hood there is a 1.2GHz quad-core 32-bit MediaTek processor with 1GB RAM and comes with 8GB internal storage, further expandable via microSD card up to 32GB. 

For photography, it is equipped with 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front snapper, which also has LED flash. The dual-SIM phone supports 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity. It is fueled by 2000mAh battery that offers 20 hours of talktime.

It comes with the latest Goggle Indic keyboard, which supports 12 Indian language, and also has several gesture features and Smart Wake-up feature.

The Lava P7 has been priced at Rs. 5,499 and comes in White, Blue and Gold w/ Pearl finish colors. It will be available via all national retail stores, multi-brand outlets and e-commerce platforms in the country.
