Microsoft Lumia 650 to be announced on February 1

A report from Windows Central suggests that Microsoft's upcoming budget Windows 10 Mobile device, the Lumia 650 will be announced on February 1.

The official announcement would be a low key affair, including specifications, pricing and availability, as the Lumia 650 would be announced in Microsoft's official blog rather than a dedicated event.

That's not all, the report also suggest that the Lumia 650 might be the only Lumia device to launch this year as Microsoft will be focusing on 'Panos phone' (or Surface Phone) which is expected to be part of the Surface line later this year. The report also mentions that the rumored Lumia 750 and Lumia 850, have been cancelled.

The Lumia 650 is expected to be marketed as an affordable business phone. The rumored specifications include, 5-inch 720p display, Snapdragon 210 / 212 SoC, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage with microSD expansion, 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front snapper. It will be fueled by 2000mAh battery, and might support wireless charging. Color options include Matte White or Matte Black.

As for the pricing, a recent listing on Czech major retailer revealed that the Lumia 650 is likely to be priced around $220 or Rs. 12,000.
