Samsung Gear Fit 2 (SM-R150) fitness tracker revealed in images
Samsung's fitness and activity tracker, the Gear Fit was unveiled at MWC 2014. Last year, a report suggested that Samsung is working on the next-gen fitness and activity tracker with model number SM-R150 (Gear Fit 2) and now couple of images of the Gear Fit 2 fitness and activity tracker have surfaced online.
The Gear Fit has a rectangular display, but the Gear Fits sports a circular display, similar to the sport variant if Gear S2 smartwatch. The fitness tracker will run on Samsung's home grown Tizen based wearable platform and is expected to come with heart-rate sensor and could be powered by Samsung's Bio-Processor, all-in-one health and fitness monitoring chip.
It looks like the heart rate sensor can be removed from the fitness tracker and can be attached to user's chest using some kind of accessory. It is also expected to come with features like count repetition in a workout, body fat measurement, keep track of water intake and more.
There is no word on the release date of Gear Fit 2, but we can expect Samsung to unveil it alongside the Galaxy S7 flagship at MWC 2016 next month.
