Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro with Snapdragon 650 SoC gets official


Xiaomi has introduced a high-end variant of the Redmi Note 3 in China called Redmi Note 3 Pro. The handset comes with Snapdragon processor instead of MediaTek and a bumped up camera unit, while rest of the specs remain same as the Redmi Note 3.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 features 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display and is equipped with 1.8GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 64-bit processor paired with Adreno 510 GPU. It comes in two RAM/ROM models- 2GB RAM w/ 16GB and 3GB RAM w/ 32GB.

For photography, there is sports 16-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.2 aperture and Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), resulting in a quick focus of just 0.1 second. On the front there is a 5-megapixel shooter. The front and rear camera can record 1080p videos. Below the rear camera there is a fingerprint scanner.

It runs on MIUI 7 based on Android Lollipop, has dual SIM slot and supports 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS+GLONASS. It packs 4050mAh battery with fast charging support that lets you charge the battery up to 50% in just 1 hour. The handset sports a full metal body and comes in Dark Grey, Silver and Champagne Gold colors.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro is priced at CNY 999 ($151 | Rs. 10,000) for the 2GB RAM w/ 16GB storage model. It will be available in China starting January 17. Details on the 3GB RAM w/ 32GB storage model is not known yet. The Redmi Note 3 Pro is expected to launch in India next month.
