Huawei Y5 II launching in Q2 2016, press image, specs surfaces


Huawei, the world's third largest smartphone maker is all set to launch it flagship, the P9 on April 6. Even though, the Huawei P9 will be a high end smartphone, the company's strength lies on its entry-level and mid-range handset which does well in emerging markets, and now Huawei is reportedly expanding its entry-level portfolio for 2016 with the Y5 II, the successor of Y5.

The Huawei Y5 II will receive major upgrade in the screen resolution resolution, processor, rear camera and battery department. The Y5 II sports a 4.5-inch 720p display and will be powered by 1.3GHz quad-core MT6735P processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage, which supports microSD card expansion. For imaging it gets 8-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front facing selfie camera, while the battery capacity will be 2200mAh. It will run Android 5.1 Lollipop with EMUI 3.1 on top.

For comparison, its predecessor, the Y5 features a 4.5-inch FWVGA LCD display, Snapdragon 210 SoC,
5-megapixel rear camera and 2000mAh battery.

The Huawei Y5 II is expected to come in Obsidian Black, Arctic White, Sand Gold, Rose Pink and Sky Blue colors. It is expected to be priced around $165 (Rs. 11,000) and will launch in select markets in Q2 2016.

Huawei is also reportedly working on successor of the Y3, the Y3 II, but details are bleak for the moment. Check out the press image.
