LG officially announces the K5 and K8


LG has officially introduced two new K series smartphones, the K5 and K8. The K8 was already listed at LG's Hungary website and with the anouncement total tally of 'K' series smartphone is five, the others including K4, K7 and K10.

Just like the other K-series mode, the K5 and K8 comes with LG's UX and an advanced camera without a premium price tag. Out of the two, the K8 sports a premium design and curved edges and 2.5D Arc Glass. It also features woven back cover.

The LG K5 sports a 5-inch FWVGA (480 x 854 pixels) display and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB inbuilt expandable storage. It sports 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front facing camera. The phone runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and is backed by a 1900mAh battery. It comes in Gold Silver and Titan colors.

The LG K8 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and comes with 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS 2.5D arced glass display, 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 SoC w/ Mali-T720 GPU, 1.5GB RAM (EU, NA) or 1GB RAM (LATAM), 8GB inbuilt expandable storage, 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 5-megapixel front snapper. It supports 4G LTE, NFC connectivity and is backed by 2125mAh battery. It comes in Gold, Indigo or White color options.

LG said that the K5 and K8 will start rolling out in key markets this week. The LG K5 will be released in Europe, CIS and Latin America, (in Mexico K5 will be called Q6) while the K8 will be released in Middle East, Asia, CIS and Latin America. Pricing will be revealed at the time of local launch.
