Acer's Predator 17 X notebook, Predator G1 desktop are VR ready
Acer has expanded its Predator gaming line-up, with the Predator17 X notebook and Predator G1 gaming desktop. In addition to packing top-of-the line hardware, both gaming PCs are NVIDIA GeForce VR ready as well as ready for VR headsets like Oculus, HTC Vive, OSVR and StarVR.
The Predator 17 X sports a 17.3-inch IPS display with NVIDIA G-SYNC technology and comes in either Full HD (1080p) or UHD (4K) resolutions. The notebook is powered by 6th generation Intel Core i7-6820GK processor paired with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 GPU (8GB GDDR5), up to 64GB DDR4-2133 RAM and up to 512GB NVMe PCIe SSD in a three-SATA-SSD RAID 0 array, up to 2TB HDD. It inlcudes a Thunderbolt 3 port, USB-C port, 4. x USB 3.1 port, Ethernet port and SD card reader.
Gamers can also enjoy turbo speeds of up to 4.0GHz for the CPU; up to 1310MHz for the GPU; and up to 3.7GHz for VRAM. The gaming notebook also has a new custom triple-fan design, DustDefender and CoolBoost to remove dust build-up and improve heat dissipation.
The Predator G1 gaming desktop houses 6th gen Intel Core i7 processor, up to 64GB RAM, NVIDIA Titan X GPU and 512GB SSD + up to 4TB HDD storage. There's also a USB 3.1 Type C Gen.2 port, support for G-SYNC and 4K2K UHD and Creatice Soundblaster X-Fi MB5 and 7.1 channel audio for immersive sound.. All these are housed in a 16-liter body.
Both the Predator 17 X and Predator G1 features "Killer DoubleShot Pro” technology that allows users to use Ethernet and Wi-Fi connections together for high-speed online gaming.
In addition, Accer announced Predator Z1 curved monitor featuring NVIDIA G-SYNC technology. It comes in 31.5-inch, 30-inch and 27-inches, and features a tight 1800R curve. The 30-inch model features an 1800R ultra-wide FHD (2560 x 1080) display with 21:9 resolution and 100% sRGB color gamut. All the Predator Z1 models sports a ergonomically designed stand which provides tilt and height adjustments making it easy to find the ideal viewing position.
Pricing and Availability:
- The Predator 17 X notebooks will be available at leading retailers in North America in June with prices starting at $2,799; in Europe in June with prices starting at €2,499; and in China in May with prices starting at ¥39,999.
- The Predator G1 desktops will be available at leading retailers in North America in July with prices starting at $2,299.99; in Europe in June with prices starting at €1,199; and in China in July with prices starting at ¥10,999.
- The Predator Z1 monitors will be available at leading retailers in North America in June with prices starting at $599.99; in Europe in June with prices starting at €599; and in China in May with prices starting at ¥4,999.
