HTC One S9 with 5-inch display, Helio X10 SoC announced


HTC has announced a new mid-range smartphone, the One S9 in Germany. The handset brings back the 'One' moniker which was ditched in HTC's flagship HTC 10. The phone sports the same unibody metal build as the One M9 and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with HTC Sense UI on top.

The HTC One S9 features 5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display with Gorilla Glass protection and is powered by 2GHz octa-coreMediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795) processor backed by PowerVR G6200 and 2GB RAM. On-board storage is 16GB, which can be further expanded via microSD card (up to 2TB).

The camera department gets 13-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, OIS, f/2.0 aperture, 4K video recording. For clicking selfies you get an Ultrapixel front camera with 2-micron pixels and 1080p video recording.

Connectivity duties are handled by 4G LTE, WiFI 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC. It is backed by 2840mAh battery and also houses Dual front-facing BoomSound speakers with Dolby Audio. The phone misses out on the fingerprint scanner and USB Type-C port.

The HTC One S9 is priced at 499 Euros ($566 | Rs. 37,500) and will be available for purchase in Germany starting from mid-May. It comes in Gold, Gunmetal Grey and Silver colors.
