Huawei outs Y5 II, Y3 II budget smartphones


Last month, two Huawei budget smartphone, the Y5 II and Y3 II surfaced online, and now both these phones have been officially announced as they are listed on the company website. They come in 3G or 4G variants, have dual-SIM slots and run Android 5.1 Lollipop with EMUI 3.1 on top.

The Huawei Y5 II features a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display. The 4G model is equipped with 1.3Ghz quad-core MediaTek MT6735P processor w/ Mali T720 GPU, whereas the 3G model has a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor with Mali 400 GPU. The Y5 II packs 1GB RAM and 8GB storage, which can be increased via microSD card.

It gets an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and 2-megapixel front facing camera with LED flash as well. Connectivity duties are handled by 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It is fueled by 2200mAh battery.


The Huawei Y3 II gets a compact 4.5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) IPS display, 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a slightly lower 2100mAh battery. The rest of specs are identical to that of Y5 II, minus the front facing LED flash.

The Huawei Y5 II and Y3 II comes in variety of colors that include Obsidian Black, Arctic White, Sand Gold, Rose Pink and Sky Blue. Unfortunately the listing does not give away the pricing and availability details.
