InFocus announces Kangaroo Mobile Desktop Pro, gets more ports

The InFocus Kangaroo Mobile Desktop is a tiny $100 Windows 10 PC which is easy to carry around. Earlier this year InFocus launched the Kangaroo Plus with twice the RAM and storage, but with no operating system for $170.

Now InFocus has launched the Kangaroo Mobile Desktop Pro that has the same design as the $100 model but comes with Pro Dock, that has more connection ports for for connecting storage, displays and networks.

The original Kangaroo PC came with a small dock that housed an HDMI port, a USB 3.0 port, a USB 2.0 ports and power jack, but the Kangaroo Pro has a larger dock doubling the size of the PC. The Pro Dock has a VGA port, an HDMI port, Ethernet port, audio port, 1 x USB 3.0 port and 2 x USB 2.0 port. It also includes a room for 2.5-inch drive bay for a HDD or SDD.

The rest of the configuration is similar to the orginal model. The Kangaroo Mobile Desktop Pro is equipped with an Intel Atom x5-Z8500 Cherry Trail processor, 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. It runs Windows Home, has a microSD card slot for storage expansion and supports WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.0 for wireless connectivity.

Also on-board is a fingerprint scanner which is on the side of the case, and should also support Windows Hello feature. Other features include power button, LED indicator and a 2200mAh battery that is good for 4 hours between charges.

There's also an app called OSLinx that lets you use an iPad as an external display for the Kangaroo Pro PC. InFocus has also updated the app to work with iPhones as well. Users will be able to interact with Kangaroo Pro PC via the touch interface of iPhones (4s/5/s/6/6s/6Plus/6s Plus). The app is priced at $4.99.

The Kangaroo Mobile Desktop Pro is priced at $200 and is available in the U.S from Newegg and Amazon. It will soon be available on Microsoft stores as well as retail outlets.
