Oppo F1 Plus with 16MP selfie camera launched in India for Rs. 26,990
Oppo has launched what it calls as 'selfie expert', the F1 Plus in India. It is an upgraded version of F1, but interestingly it is a re-branded Oppo R9 which was recently unveiled in China. The R9 will also launch in other markets as F1 Plus.
Since the phone is targeted at selfie lovers, it comes with a higher resolution front 'Hi-light' camera. The Oppo F1 Plus gets a 16-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, 5-element lens and 78.1 degree field of view. Oppo claims that the Hi-light front facing camera "is four times more sensitive, has twice the dynamic range, and captures shots with four times less noise, compared to cameras without the technology. As a result, the Hi-light Camera produces exceptionally clear and bright images, and excels at low-light, back-lit and night-time photography."
The rear camera is 13-megapixel that is accompanied by LED flash and features f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, 5-element lens, 80.6-degree field of view and 4K video recording. The phone also utilizes the brand's Smart image stabilizer, which is touted as the world's smaller optical image stabilizer.
The Oppo F1 Plus sports a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) AMOLED display protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 4 and is powered by octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) processor paired with Mali T860 GPU and 4GB RAM. On-board storage is 32GB/64GB (two storage variants), and supports storage expansion via microSD card (up to 128GB).
It runs Color OS 3.0 based on Android Lollipop and houses Hybrid dual-SIM slot, meaning that the second slot supports microSD cards. For connectivity it supports 4G LTE with VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It is backed by 2850mAh battery which supports the brand’s VOOC Flash Charge technology, that will offer 2 hours of talk time with just 5 minutes for charge.
Also on-board is a fingerprint sensor which works even with wet fingers and is capable of unlocking the phone in 0.2 seconds. The phone sports a premium metal unibody design.
The Oppo F1 Plus is priced at Rs. 26,990 and will be available across the country from mid-April. It comes in Gold and Rose Gold colors. Oppo also plans to roll out the F1 Plus to Southeast Asia, Middle East and North Africa later this month, followed by Europe in May.
