Apple Music reportedly getting a revamp in June


Apple Music is set to receive its 'first end-to-end overhaul' with new features and improvements, according to multiple reports. The changes are expected to be shown off at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in June. 

Bloomberg reports that Apple will make "sweeping changes" to its music streaming service. The updated Apple Music will have a redesigned user-interface to make it more initiative to use, as well as improved integration and download service. Apple also plans to expand its online music service.

Meanwhile, 9to5Mac shared what kind of new features Apple's music streaming service will get in the latest update. The publication states the new version of Apple Music, in addition to redesigned user interface will also get a few new function and the existing features will be simplified.
  • Apple will get rid of the current colorful and translucent look, instead will have black and white backgrounds and text
  • Album artwork will be bigger to avoid the black and white look
  • 3D Touch will give shortcut previews and make it easier to share song 
  • The overall look will be "bolder yet simpler" 
  • Fonts on menus and tabs will also get bigger.
  • 'For You' recommendation section will be simplified to increase its usage
  • 'New' tab which shows list of top charge, genres will be ditched and replace by a section called "Browse'
  • Support for song lyrics
The updated Apple Music will be a part of Apple's upcoming iOS 10 which will release this fall. Apple recently announced that Apple Music has over 13 million users, well behind Spotify with over 30 million.
