LG's LTE-enabled Action Cam will let you record in 4K and stream to YouTube


LG has introduced their own live action camera with built-in LTE connectivity called LG Action Cam LTE. As the name suggests, the camera comes with LTE/3G connectivity allowing users to live-stream videos directly to sites such as YouTube Live without a smartphone.

It also comes with remote access feature, which enables the camera to be used as a CCTV camera for remote surveillance or automobile dash camera. However, this feature will be available in July through a software update by LG. 

The LG Action Cam LTE comes with 12.3-megapixel camera with 1/2.3-inch sensor and150-degree wide-angle lens. It is capable of 4K video at 30fps, 1080p video at 60fps and 720p video at 120fps.It packs Snapdragon 650 SoC, 2GB RAM and 4GB internal storage and is IP67 rated which means it's protected from dust and sand, and can be immersed in water in up to one meter for up to 30 minutes.

Other features include GPS, accelerometer, gyroscope, microSD card slot (up to 2TB), Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and USB Type-C 2.0 port. It is backed by 1400mAh battery, which promises four hours of full HD video recording. 

The LG Action Cam will launch in Korea this June, followed by North Korea and Europe. Pricing is not known. LG says that it will also launch a fully waterproof case for the camera later this year.
