Samsung Galaxy J2 2016 with 2GB RAM, Android Marshmallow spotted on benchmark listings


Samsung after launching the 2016 editions of Galaxy J1, Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 is now working on a new 'J' series smartphone. The Galaxy J2 2016 edition with model number SM-J210F has surfaced on AnTuTu and Geekbench benchmarking websites outing most of the specs.

As per the listing, the Galaxy J2 2016 will have 5-inch 720p display and equipped with 1.5GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SC8830 SoC backed by 2GB RAM. It comes with 16GB inbuilt expandable storage, 8MP rear camera and 5MP front camera. It is expected to ship with Android Marshmallow.

Meanwhile, the Galaxy J2 2016 was spotted on India's import and export tracker database. Several units of Galaxy J2 2016 were imported into the country for testing purpose. The declared value of each units if 6,800, however note that, the price of the handset is not final and the launch price is expected to be higher than that.

It is not known when Samsung will announce the Galaxy J2 2016, but since the handset has been spotted at several places, we can expect an announcement within a month or two.
